For Ramón Bilbao, sustainability is a priority: we continue to reinforce our action plan with our membership to the International Wineries for Climate Action, following several years of hard work to become environmentally sustainable and minimize our impact. It's a step forward on our way to being a conscious company that takes responsibility for our impact on the planet.
Bodegas Ramón Bilbao was founded in 1924 in the town of Haro, Wine Capital of Rioja. Today they have vineyards split between Rioja and Rueda as well as a team of viticulture specialists which work with respect for the land and tend to the vines using natural methods. In 2017, Ramón Bilbao joined the Wineries for Climate Protection program, the first and only specific certification for the wine industry in the area of environmental sustainability with the recognition of the FEV (Federación Española del Vino). Their love of wine above all else, combined with a non-conformist spirit which can be seen in the innovation and the new way of looking at the “Terroir”, has managed to surprise both critics and consumers, becoming an oenological point of reference around the world and making their wines the biggest sellers in Spanish bars and restaurants.
